Meaning of the Flag:

The Skaarvaagian flag shows a white and turquoise cross on a red background. The colour red symbolises the red Northern Yagredin Light, which is the most important light for Skaarvaag because it can be seen only once a year. White stands for the huge snow & ice landscape in the very north of the country. The colour turquoise often gets associated with the water of the over 1000 fjords. In the middle of the cross, one can see the most important characteristics of Skaarvaag: some snowy mountains with the typical Northern Yagredin Lights, which can be seen in whole Skaarvaag.
